Madman's entry 2018.01.13
I've decided it would be interesting to release my experiments into the web at large and see what the hands of other's can do with my creations MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
So first to present are some dinking around games, generated whiled bored at work, they probably could be taken further, polished, and done a thousand times better in a software platform designed for games. However, like most, I work with what I know, and I have lots of time in excel and it's an easy resource to search for even more ideas, solutions, and troubleshooting.
3D Tic Tac Toe
As obvious based on the classic pencil game, with one extra caveat, there are three tiers overlayed to make a cube. The idea itself isn't new but was actually based on my brothers and my own attempts to relieve boredom, push our mental visualization, and reduce ties (especially the last one). We worked out how the layout would be on paper, and quickly figured out that we had to remove the center space on the middle tier to actually make the game have any chance of being fair.
Taking the basic concept of the paper version, I set up the three 3x3 tiers, and blot out the center space. Some labeling to help tie to a visual aid, and then hidden counting tables to track points. All in all the equations are simple, compared to some I've made for work, but like with any coding project, the breaking down of human thought and translating the sequence to code has a fun distraction. The straightforward nature of computation made it easy to create some customization in the naming of people and allowance for typed symbol onto the board.

Sudoku Helper
My most recent excel creation that made me decide I should try and share the madness; Sudoku Helper. This is designed to help with 9x9 Sudoku puzzles (most common), it doesn't take into account diagonal or none square puzzle styles just the pure row, column, and block. Sudoku lends itself to be easy due to the logic in creating the equations to filter out what is inputted and what remains. To that end, if I do another Sudoku Helper I will make all the grids the same size for some ease in the formatting and linkage of cells. If by the slim chance there is interest in the vast web I would give it a go, there's also still making a 16x16 and 25x25, I don't imagine the equation/process would change much for either project it's just a time factor. I'm just not sure they would generate much usefulness/interest so onto other things, perhaps someone else will take up the banner or enough people will express interest, I do have an attention driven ego to feed after all.

Back to the Future!!!
Future posts under the Excel Experiments will actually tie back to already worked on projects; specifically a PolyAlphabetic Cipher I have mostly completed in Excel. To that end, it will be broken down into small chunks useful to the curious seeking to build their own. I hope to eventually make several functional sheets of varies complexity, the upper tier of which will be for sale. Until then any feedback is appreciated in advance, enjoy the madness.
